Because you couldn’t get enough of pretty people being terrorized at a redneck motel, Hollywood has decided to give you more of it, thus, “Vacancy 2: The First Cut”, a prequel to the 2007 movie starring Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson, as a couple who discovers they are being filmed as part of a snuff film. The sequel, which is going directly to video, is directed by Eric Bross (whose most recent movie was 2005’s “Vampire Bats”), and stars a bunch of pretty people you’ve never heard of, which is how they kept the budget relatively low for the sequel. The good news for you fans of the first movie? Mark L. Smith, who wrote the first movie, is back to write the sequel, so technically speaking, it shouldn’t reek nearly as much as it would normally, right?

Snuff the movie out on videostores everywhere January 20, 2009.
