Very Impressive First Trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman

Rupert Sanders’ “Snow White and the Huntsman” is the “other” Snow White movie. You know, the one that actually sounds and looks interesting and not just some silly colorful kids movie like Tarsem Singh’s “Mirror Mirror”. Yeah, that one. Anyways, take a gander at the first trailer for the film, featuring Kristen Stewart shaking off her Bella damsel in distress roots for something a little more proactive in terms of kicking ass. Have to admit, I didn’t think Stewart would be all that convincing in an action role, but she’s not too bad. And oh yeah, Chris Hemsworth wielding that big ol ax is pretty convincing, too. But then again, I guess he has experience wielding big objects. I can also see why Charlize Theron would want to play the Queen. It’s a way juicier role than Snow White by at least 500 folds or thereabouts.

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

Go into battle with Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Ian McShane, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, Ray Winstone, Dave Legeno, Edgar Wright, Lily Cole, Stephen Graham, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan next year, June 1, 2012.

Me, too. Figured this was going to be chick-lit fantasy along the lines of “Red Riding Hood” but good to see I was mistaken.

Very Lord of the Ring-ish. Looks good… except when form when Kristen Stewart comes up on the screen.

Sorry about that, but I still don’t respect her as an actress. Hope I’m wrong on this one.

Very surprised. Though we didn';t get much out of Stewart (she could still suck) the rest of the cast rocked! I really liked Theron. Another American that can pull off a semi-decent accent. She makes for one hot Evil Queen!!.

      Here here!

    • imrickjames

She’s not American, she’s from south Africa

      • Dedpool

I completely forget that. She speaks with no accent most of the time so it slips my mind.

  • Dominique Hatcher

I liked the trailer a lot……but I’m still not sold on the “Snow White as Joan of Arc” angle……idk why……

seems like everyone knows how to fight and weild a sword now…
