Very Odd Teaser Trailer for Director Hideaki Anno’s Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo

Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo (2012) Movie Image

I recently purchased the first two “Evangelion” films on Blu-ray at a used book shop, and I thoroughly enjoyed both features immensely. However, since I don’t have a lot of free time on my hands these days, delving deeper into the story has proven to be a little difficult. Still, I’m always down for another movie, and I was pretty excited to learn that “Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo” is currently on its way to Japanese theaters. In order to get the online buzz rolling, a teaser trailer has been released. However, don’t go into the clip expecting giant robots — all you’re getting is a weird piece of computer-generated art. I’m not sure what this is suppose to represent, but I do hope giant robots figure into the theatrical trailer. It would be nice, anyway.

Look for “Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo” to arrive in Japanese theaters on October 13th, 2012. American audiences will have an opportunity to experience the flick sometime next year. When you’re ready, the trailer resides below.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)

It’s a piano, for the record. Though yeah, Evangelion: this is how it rolls.

Supposedly, there’s a proper preview going on in theatres in Japan now (different from the old one we got at the end of Advance).

Isn’t the movie out Nov 17th?

I really liked these remakes/reimaginings! I will get them all on Blu-Ray and have at least one cpomplete Eva series.
