This is what separates him from not just his villainous rogue's gallery, but also other vigilantes like the Punisher. Should the Joker be killed? Well, yes. He's a mass murderer that should be put to death. But, by the legal system, not Batman. And besides, they can't kill off the Joker! He's Batman's best villain! Well, to me, Batman is no killer, and never should be. This is what separates him from not just his villainous rogue’s gallery, but also other vigilantes like the Punisher.
