Personally I think “War of the Gods” sounds much better, but I’m not a highly paid suit working for Relativity Media, who have finally made it official and settled on a title for their upcoming Tarsem Sighn Greek epic: “Immortals”. Oh well, at least it sounds better than the film’s other alternate title, “Dawn of War”, which just sounded so … ZZZZZZZZ. Sorry, fell asleep while trying to type my thoughts. Anyhoo.
Relatively also announced the addition of two castmembers to “Immortals”: Isabel Lucas and John Hurt will be joining the cast, which already includes Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, Joseph Morgan, Freida Pinto and Mickey Rourke.
Hurt (above, left) will portray the earthly manifestation of the god Zeus, who acts as a mentor and teacher to the young warrior Theseus (Cavill). Isabel Lucas (below), last seen in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and “Daybreakers”, as well as the upcoming “Red Dawn” remake, will play Athena, the daughter of Zeus who finds her loyalty tested as the war between the gods and Titans looms.
Shooting on “Immortals” has already begun in Montreal this week.
