Warner Bros. Developing Methuselah Movie
Methuselah (2010) Movie — By Nix on March 25, 2009
Every now and then Hollywood comes up with an idea for a movie that makes me glad I write about them. Here’s another: “Methuselah”, about a guy who has lived for so long (he’s immortal, or close) that he’s developed “an incredible set of survival skills”, which I take to mean he knows more than just how to make a campfire out of sticks. Warner Bros. is currently developing the action-adventure with Brit James Watkins directing.
According to Variety:
The title comes from the biblical character who lived nearly 1,000 years. The film’s protagonist ages at a similarly slow rate and has used all the extra time to develop an incredible set of survival skills.
Watkins’ feature film directorial debut was the survival flick “Eden Lake”. He’s also written a little horror gem called “The Eye”, one of the better entries in the gazillion or so horror movies to mock the Reality TV craze that was all the rage a few years back. His most recent project was as writer on the sequel to Neil Marshall’s “The Descent”.

Sounds suspiciously like Heinlein’s “Lazarus Long” character to me. Has anyone read “Methuselah’s Children” lately?
