Yes he should. And Mark Dacascos or Russel Wong in the Bruce Lee role. Or just have White in the Bruce Lee role and mix it up. It should eb an all star martial arts extravaganza, featuring, Michael Jai White, Russel Wong, DOnnie Yen, Marka Dacascos, Scott Adkins, Ray Park, Tony Jaa, Jet Li (cameo), Jackie CHan (cameo), and Chuck Norris (cameo). It’d be the Martial arts version of the Expendables.

Shouldn’t even be called a remake or re-imagining or anything. Just say “Inspired by Bruce Lee’s epic, Enter The Dragon,” have some nods and homages and make your own movie. He sounds like he wants to remake Bloodsport not Enter the Dragon.

This is not a good idea, the movie was average at most in the first place. It was Bruce Lee who kept us all watching. Without him it would not have been anywhere close to the classic it has become today.

Why would one do a remake of perfection????? Enter the Dragon was and is great because it was Bruce Lee–the greatest athlete, martial artist, philospher, and emotional content! He did everything to perfection! Would one do a remake of Star Wars??? It is one thing to do a remake of Willa Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or The Day the Earth Stood Still, but to do a remake of Enter the Dragon is an insult to the movie and to Bruce Lee himself! Jet Li did do a remake of the Chinese Connenction (aka Fists of Fury) but it was never promoted as such. It was an homage to the classic. Awaken the Dragon should just be another movie–Dont call it a remake! You wonder who will be able to fill Bruce Lee’s shoes as Kato in any remake of the Green Hornet. Leave Enter the Dragon alone!

why they’re remaking a classic is beyond me but if that’s the case just call it what it is. don’t just change the title and alter the storyline..this could be done but it would take some focus on key points to keep the over all feel and not be a slap in the face to true fans, the orignal movie and Bruce’s legacy. Tony jaa i’m fine with. I think Jason Scott Lee(DRAGON:BRUCE LEE STORY) had his chance and Jet Li should have tried this early in his Hollywood career…. but these rumors about Tom Cruise and 50 cent reprising John Saxon’s and Jim Kelly’s roles are absolute bullshit and i also heard John Cena was a prospect…whoever considers this deserves a molotav cocktail thrown at them..first off Bruce’s character is the star..PERIOD..this movie is gonna have the same problem it had 30yrs ago with trying to get some hollywood names casted to put people in the seats. they’ll have to follow the same format they did back then by casting b-list actors because A-list stars and egos will kill the focus of the movie. also they’ll need a director and producers fimiliar with Bruce Lee otherwise it’s a waste. and they should get people affiliated with the original movie as consultants. The choreography is another key point to making this movie correctly. Bruce’s attention to detail and perfetion and his attempt to stick to reality is what made the original so great…no jumping 40 feet in the air and flying bullshit like the other kung fu movies back then. some ideas for actors maybe Jaime Fox as Jim Kelly’s/Williams role, he’s diverse enough and has done action movies before his only problems would be losing the ego down and getting the martial arts aspect. he could own the acting part of it. another could be Michael Jai White as Jim Kelly’s role as well. he’s B-list and has martial arts under his belt. I also thought of Wesley Snipes but he’d have an ego issue and is currently in jail… As far as Roeper/John Saxon’s role i considered Woody Harrelson but the martial arts background would be an issue. John Saxon was believeable in the movie because he actually was a black belt. The only other guys i could think of that might’ve fit would have been Robert Patrick..the T-1000 from Terminator 2 and “THE UNIT”, but maybe 10yrs ago he might be too old now. Also maybe Hugh Jackman a few years ago, he’s moved up to A-list recently..i just hope Hollywood doesn’t fuck this up with their stupid MONEY, MONEY, MONEY commercial tactics and do this respectively and right but i got mixed feelings. again Tony Jaa is a step in the right direction…

also the rest of the cast has got to be the majority asian…not an asian rogue monk and a bunch of white guys..that’s dumb shit hollywood does and the shit ain’t believeable like the “the last Samurai” with Cruise’s weak ass……just imagine fight scenes if Bruce Lee was still alive mixed with the movie technology of today…could’ve been great…RIP BRUCE LEE…GOAT…

I agree with CHB, but in order to do this don’t they need permission from the Lee Family? This has to be really really good or you will ruin the integrity of Enter the Dragon. Enter the Dragon is the best film of it’s genre. Don’t make the mistake of trying to cash in using the name of the legend who made it.

Why even mention Bruce Lee’s movie? Sutter should just make a movie and not associate it with Bruce Lee. Come on Mr. Sutter read the writings of Mr. Lee, his wife and the many books of his friends and learn of some of the ugly ways the American film industry had treated him and please re-think this idea.

If they cast a WHITE guy as the FBI agent and an Asian guy as the “rogue” (read: evil) Shaolin Monk, then the director/writer should be assassinated.

Enter the Dragon was a movie Bruce Lee made precisely because, in his own words, Hollywood wanted to portray Asian men as weak, asexual imbeciles. He made this film in Asia so that an Asian male could finally be the hero.

So if this bastard rides the coattails of Enter the Dragon and casts a white hero in this flick, then it would literally be middle finger and a big F*CK YOU pointed right at Bruce Lee’s grave.
