Warren Ellis’ G.I. Joe Resolute is All Kinds of Ninja-y Fun

So you’re kinda bummed out because everything you’ve seen of the “G.I. Joe” movie by Stephen Sommers kinda sucked? Well shit, kids, join the party, and here’s something else: the powers that be are actually making an animated G.I. Joe movie that has nothing to do with the movie, and it’s called “G.I. Joe: Resolute”, written by Warren Ellis. Yes, that Warren Ellis. How they ever got the British writer of such excellent comics fare as “Planetary”, “The Authory”, and of course, the truly effed up ness of “Black Summer” to write an animated movie about a bunch of good ol American boys fighting some dudes with snakes on their heads is anybody’s guess, but they did, and this is the result.

“G.I. Joe: Resolute” is a 60-minute movie that will be released on the web as 10 5-minute episodes and one final 10-minute episode finale. Yeah, it sounds kind of disjointed, and I haven’t a clue how this thing is going to work, but here ya go, footage from the movie that was shown at Comic Con a little ways back.

Here’s what to expect from “Resolute” via Hisstank (emphasis mine):
