To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Man of Steel, Warner Bros. has put together a rather snazzy animated short that incorporates basically all of Superman’s most memorable incarnations over the years — yes, including that time when they killed the Big Blue to sell a lot of comics shake things up.

And when you’re Superman and you have 75 years of history, that’s a LOT of memorable visuals, from his early days in comics to Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” with Henry Cavill to choose from. The short itself is from Warner Bros. Animation, and is apparently the combined work of Zack Snyder and D.C. animated mainstay Bruce Timm (of “Batman: The Animated Series” fame, among many others).

Obviously the treat here is to pick up all of the homages, though I didn’t know Superman used to be a pretty crappy side-scrolling game. Wow, what was that, the early ’80s?

The short had a panel at this weekend’s New York Comic Con. Here are some pics from the event:

That was awesome!!! Saw it on a big screen at ComicCon but didn’t make the panel, was just in the waiting area where they show panels if you can’t make it in. This should be on the Man of Steel blu-ray!
