According to Hollywood scuttlebutt, you, the moviegoing public, haven’t exactly been enamored with John Carter and his mysterious trip to the Red Planet which shall not be named in the title. In case you fall into that category, then those 4 clips we posted of the film previously didn’t make much of a dent, which is kinda crap, because come on, you know how long it took to put that post together? Anyways, here’s another extended clip (nearly 3 minutes) featuring hero John Carter battling some giant friggin’ white apes that might change your mind. If not? Eh, I tried. (There’s also a new version of the trailer at the end of the clip, which is kind of nice, too.)
In “John Carter”, the titular hero finds himself on Mars, where he’s apparently stronger and can leap tall buildings in a single bound. Which you expect should come in handy as there doesn’t seem to be all that much public transportation not involving slow-moving animals with four legs on the Red Planet. Plus, all that brown, vast desert landscape. The ability to hop very far comes in handy in that kind of arid surroundings, I would imagine.
Starring Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church, Willem Dafoe, and directed by Andrew Stanton.
John Carter hops to it March 9, 2012.
