Watchmen Wraps, New Rorschach Image

Comic Book Movie News, Watchmen (2009) Movie — By Nix on February 20, 2008

Alan Moore may not be too enthusiastic about Zack Snyder’s “Watchmen”, but I am. (Then again, besides peanut butter jelly, what does get Moore excited nowadays?) On the site’s blog, director Snyder writes that they’ve wrapped shooting on the film, and as a going away present, gave us this groovy little image of Rorschach lighting some poor sucker on fire. Yeah, take that, Alan Moore! (Er, just kidding, Alan, don’t kick my dog.)

Says Snyder on the site’s official blog:

A film adaptation of Watchmen has been in the works for almost 20 years and thanks to you, it is finally in the can. It has been such a pleasure to be surrounded by a team that is so dedicated and that has given 110% each and every day. I am extremely grateful for the level of attention to detail put forth by each department to capture all of the texture that makes Watchmen the incredibly unique property that it is. Although we still have a lot of work to do in post, the shoot has been an experience I will not soon forget!

  • I can’t blame Alan Moore for the way his creations have been treated on screen, like “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” and “V for Vendetta.” And I imagine “Watchmen” will be a hatchet-job like those films, too. But, that won’t prevent me from seeing it and hoping that I’m proven wrong.

  • Nix says:

I’m guessing you and I probably already knows how it’ll end, which will really suck when we see the movie. Imagine how cooler it would have been if we didn’t know? Damn my comic book reading days!

P.S. Moore is a kook. He should have the words, “Get off my lawn!” stenciled across his forehead.

  • You’re totally right, Nix. And I have fears that they’ll probably change the ending anyway to make it more Hollywood-friendly.

Alan Moore is a kook, but at least he’s our kind of kook!
