What? ANOTHER X-Men First Class Clip? Yup. Here’s #13

20th Century Fox has released a new, 13th clip from Matthew Vaughn’s “X-Men: First Class”, which is opening everywhere this Friday. In the clip, the kids get together and choose their code names. Cause what else would kids with powers do in their free time? Exactly. And in case you missed them, check out 12 more clips from the movie here, for a total of 13 clips.

“X-Men: First Class” charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Starring Michael Fassbender, January Jones, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Bacon, Jason Flemyng, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Lucas Till, Zoë Kravitz, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Edi Gathegi, and Caleb Landry Jones.

No. If memory serves me correctly there was no after credits scene in the original X-Men film or it’s first sequel, X2. However, X-Men : The last Stand had two breif after credits scenes. One where Moira MacTaggert is caring for the bed ridden patient from earlier in the film with a healthy body and no brain activity. She is startled when the man says her name in Professor X’s voice. And another where Magneto, after being stripped of his powers by the “Cure” while on Alcatraz in the film,s climactic finale, is playing chess outside in a park. The camera pulled in close on his hand as he tries using his magnetic manipulation to move the pewter chess piece and there was a second of “Did it or Didn’t it move?!” I’m not sure if the exclusion of any after credits teaser is courtesy of Singer, who directed the post-credit scene-less first and second movies and is now producing this one. It could be that it is more of a Marvel signature and thus Fox is actively trying to distance themselves from that. I’d have to assume that it is the first scenario since the third film that was directed by Brett Ratner and include such a scene.

Okay here’s a quick break down of who’s who in First class starting with their comic version and then some trivia

From her character’s comic book synopsis I see Angel Salvadore joining Magneto and obviously Mystique when they turn their backs on Charles and company. Maybe even Azazel will join Magneto’s first incarnation of the Brotherhood since there is an obvious connection between he and Mystique. I think that would be a pretty good start for a sequel. Hopefully there will be one .
Back to the conversation that I was having above with IronfistFan#Rogernator3000- There was talk of a Wolverine cameo within the film. It would be a grossly missed opportunity if they didn’t have an after credits scene where Magneto and his new group meet their newest recruit… Sabretooth (hopefully played by Liev Shriber and looking more like he did in the first X-Men film when played by Tyler Mane!) That would be a perfect set up for the next film!
