I saw American Movie. At first I thought it was a comedy, then I saw footage of Coven and the composition of the shots was highly impressive. This guy isn’t a joke. It would be a joke if he had no talent or ambition, but this guy has talent and he’s very assertive and he clearly knows about film. I think he was a loser. Slightly intelligent, enthusiastic,fIlm geek. Couldve been somthing like a 2nd AD on a low budget local film but instead took too much drugs growing up and simply BLEW IT.

I ran into Mark at a fair in Menomonee Falls about 4 years ago. He seemed pretty high then too. I used to work with him when he “vaccuumed the crypts” and remember him always being such a nice guy. Fun to be around, fun to talk to. Unfortunately, he didn’t remember me that night at the fair due to his “mental state” at the time I believe. I know he was always excited about film making and always seemed to be the one behind the camera (along with his friend Mike) at any events where he was needed. I hope he succeeds with any of the films he makes going forward.

My boyfriend said he ran into him on hollywood blvd. with his girlfriend joan from american movie. He said they were both kind of cracked out on drugs which is pretty sad.

hi,

i’ve been a fan of American Movie ever since i first saw the documentary. it’s one of those movies you can watch over and over again (well for me, at least) i tried their site but it looks long abandoned. you would of thought it would become more of a ‘cult’ film with fan sites, etc. but ??? unless anyone knows of any fan club for american movie i would join. i love that friggin’ movie
