Whitaker Confirmed, Bullock Not so Much for Expendables

I don’t care what this article from The Hollywood Reporter says, I still think it’s very doable that Sandra Bullock will show up in “The Expendables” as a CIA hottie whose job is to chase Sylvester Stallone and his group of badass mercs around the world, before finally seeing the light and then letting them go at the end cause, gosh darn it, sure they may shoot a lot of people and blow stuff up real good, but they’re really good guys at heart. Not saying I have a source or anything, but it would just be kinda cool if Bullock starred in a movie with Stallone again after “Demolition Man”, and Bullock strikes me as the type of gal who would do something just because it “would be cool”. Then again, I could be wrong, in which case, ignore all the above.

According to THR, Forest Whitaker is all but confirmed to join the cast of “The Expendables”, while Bullock’s potential casting, says a Nu Image/Millennium Films spokesman, is just “merely wishful thinking for fans”. Um, dear Nu Image/Millennium Films spokesman, I know you’re fronting Stallone the money for the movie, but we weren’t the ones doing the wishful thinking, it was your star and director who started it. Of course we could be wrong and the original article could have made that last part up…

About Whitaker’s role:

Whitaker would play the CIA liaison for a group of mercenaries (played by Stallone, Jet Li, Randy Couture and Jason Statham) who are clandestinely sent to South America to overthrow a dictator.

Eh, Whitaker’s okay, but I’d prefer Bullock in “The Expendables”. I don’t know, it just seems … right. Or maybe I’m just hoping she decides to do the movie because it’ll mean less time for movies like “The Proposition”? Talk about wishful thinking!
