Who is Directing The Wolverine? Apparently it Could be Anyone

And I mean that. Like pretty much anyone.

Variety has a list of eight names that the studio is “considering”, but honestly, it feels more like someone at the studio had a pen and paper handy and a couple of seconds to spare and decided to make a list with some random, currently “hot” director names and gave it to Variety as news and they’re running with it.

Anyways, according to the trade, there are currently eight candidates to direct Fox’s “The Wolverine”, their sequel to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, which up to about two months ago had “Black Swan’s” Darren Aronofsky confirmed to direct … before he decided to leave.

The names include Jose Padilha, Doug Liman, Antoine Fuqua, Mark Romanek, Justin Lin, Gavin O’Connor, James Mangold and Gary Shore.

Putting Lin in there is a bit of a stretch. The guy already has what, a dozen projects already going right now?

Anyways, there’s your “The Wolverine” movie news for the day. Do with it what you will.

"Whose guts does a guy have to rip open to get a director around this joint?"

LOL> I like that “Do waht you want with it.”

I say Fuqua (Training Day, King Arthur), Liman (did the Bourne Films), and Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Knight and Day) in that order.

I think that Liman would be the best fit out of the names mentioned but I could seriously care less. Hopefully they’ll leave this dead dog lie.

I think a young Jack Nicholson would have been the best Wolverine.
