Who Needs Fast Five? The Asylum Has 200 MPH!

I kind of figured that mockbuster wizards The Asylum would have a low-budget, direct-to-video response to “Fast Five”, but for some reason, I never really thought to properly and thoroughly investigate my suspicions. Below you’ll find a trailer for “200 MPH”, which quietly landed on DVD and VOD on April 26th, 2011. Directed by Cole McKay and starring David Michael Latt, David Rimawi, and Paul Bales, the film follows a young racer as he is “plunged into the harrowing world of illegal street racing, risking his life as he races with a vengeance”. Sounds like a paint-by-numbers winner to me. The kicker: the screenwriter’s name is Thunder Levin. How could you possibly go wrong?

Curious parties are encouraged to check out the trailer embedded below.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
