Apparently comic book bad guy Baron Von Strucker, the very well-dressed gentleman above, may also be joining evil robot Ultron when Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” surfaces on the scene in 2015. Hey, the more the merrier, right? After all, there’s a bunch of Avengers, mind as well give them more than just one evil robot to fight.
According to Latino-Review, Marvel is currently looking for a “physically imposing man, age range 40-50, Caucasian” for a supporting role in the film. That role, we’re told, will be Baron Von Strucker.
So who is this Strucker guy?
In the comics, Baron Von Strucker is a super villain, one of the leaders of HYDRA, and an enemy of both S.H.I.E.L.D and The Avengers. He is supposedly ageless and keeps dying yet comes back, time and time again.
Well, being ageless and dying and coming back time and time again pretty much describes everyone in the Marvel comic book universe, right?
Also according to the site, Marvel is looking at two very specific actors for the role. They are:
Marton Csokas from the “Lord of the Rings” films. He’s also playing the bad guy in “The Equalizer” and “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For”:
And Dougray Scott, most recently seen menacing the boys of “Strike Back”, though most people probably recognize him as the bad guy from “Mission Impossible 2″:
