Will Smith Joins Son Jaden in Shyamalan’s One Thousand AE

Originally slated as the second starring vehicle for Jaden Smith post-”The Karate Kid”, the M. Night Shyamalan-helmed “One Thousand AE” will now instead star both Jaden and his father, Will Smith. THR reports that father and son will be starring in the post-apocalyptic sci-fi movie together, the plot of which goes like this:

Set 1,000 years into the future, the movie centers on a young boy who navigates an abandoned and sometimes scary Earth to save himself and his estranged father after their ship crashes.

Shyamalan, coming off the much-derided “The Last Airbender”, will direct from a script by he and “The Book of Eli’s” Gary Whitta.

“One Thousand AE”, which may get a new title soon, will be a “scary, science-fiction” according to Shyamalan.

Don’t do it Will! Don’t you see that Shyamalan is one of Hollywood’s blacklisted filmmakers? The guy is still riding the success of a film that came out 12 years ago. He must have a hell of an agent if he was able to tie a script with the Smith’s.

IIRC, Shymalan’s agent is in actually Ari Gold – according to that episode of Entourage he starred in.

So yes, he does in fact have the best agent in Hollywood – albeit a fictional one.

“The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project.” Our dreams are so very different, M. Night. So, so very different.
