Will Superman Bow Before Viggo After All?

If Zack Snyder, director of the upcoming Warner Bros. reboot of “Superman” has his way, the answer might be Yes.

According to Variety, now that Viggo Mortensen has all but dropped out of Universal’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” after the two sides failed to reach a deal, it now leaves Mortensen open to do other projects. Like, oh I don’t know, the Superman villain he was up for but couldn’t do because of “Huntsman”?

Warner Bros. wouldn’t comment, but according to the trade, Snyder is “reportedly interested” in putting Mortensen back in the reboot. If so, then Mortensen would be back in the mix, along with two new names that have surfaced over the week — “Boardwalk Empire’s” Michael Shannon and “Carlos'” Edgar Ramirez.

Word is, all three would be up for the same part, which at this point, would seem to indicate General Zod, Superman’s fellow Kryptonite survivor. But really, that’s all just conjecture at this point.
