Will There be some Winter Solderin’ in Captain America’s Future?

POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW. DO NOT READ ON IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE CAPTAIN AMERICA MOVIE THAN NECESSARY.

According to CHUD, Marvel Studios is seriously considering long-term plans for Captain America’s World War II sidekick, Bucky Barnes that may include those pesky Russkies and Bucky’s recent comic book exploits. That rumor has Marvel bringing The Winter Soldier into play for future “Captain America” movie sequels.

As fans of the Captain America comic book might already know, The Winter Soldier is an older version of Bucky, who, like his hero survived World War II. But unlike the Cap, Bucky went through one heck of a transformation at the hands of the Russians, and didn’t get the luxury of being frozen in ice for 60 years. The character eventually fought his Russian brainwashing to become a good guy again, and when Steve Rogers was recently “killed off” in the comic book, assumed the mantle of Captain America for a time.

CHUD says there are talks at Marvel Studios about leaving the room open for Bucky to go through his Winter Solder transformation at the end of the “First Avenger” movie so he can show up in a sequel. It’s either pave the way for the Winter Soldier, or bring back Bucky as an old man ala the “Ultimate” universe.

“The First Avenger: Captain America” enters the fray in 2011, with Chris Evans as Captain America and Joe Johnston directing.

I think the Winter Soldier would make a good foil for Captain America. Or at least, he’d be better than a giant floating head in a chair.

'Whoa, whoa, no one disses the head. No one!'

I hope he'll be in a sequel. As for the end of the first film it should be an after credits sequence set twenty years later with the Russians thawing Bucky out for Operation WInter Soldier, with a quick scene of the bionic arm. But to even do any of this they need to establish Bucky as the badass black ops soldier to Cap's symbol of America. It's why he's so damned good as the Winter Soldier.

AW Nix! Stop dissing M.O.D.O.K.!!!! Well yeah, he is pretty ridiculous but hey he could actually be done right if his big head is a giant screen with a holographic image of his human face in it. His live (once human)brain could be connected on the inside to a computer system. It'd be a morbid idea but could work. Anyway The Winter Soldier is a must and that will be the precursor to some obvious stories. Sounds good to me.

That'd make him Arnim Zola then Ulik. That's EXACTLY what he is. Except its a walking robot body, with a camera for the head I'd guess and the holorgaphic face in the body.

Also not a bda villain to have. As you could have him be alive and well in WWII but the cyborg body by the sequel. He's a Nazi Bio-chemist/engineer.

Modok could be done right though. But instead of giving him this big head, have him basically trapped in this floating chair/harness/armor. So his head is still in the middle but it's the machine that's huge making his limbs look tiny.

Awesome idea! That could work. I forgot about Arnim Zola yeah, in the back of my mind I was saying “wait theres a character who's like that already” but couldn't think of who. Yeah Arnim Zola could actually work for this new Captain America flick, what do you think. Maybe Modok could have been created by the same people or be somehow associated with Arnim Zola but in the present.
