Witchblade Cuts her way to the Big Screen

If Platinum Studios, Top Cow Productions, and Arclight Films have their way, the Witchblade and her gorgeous, probably very lightly covered wielder will be showing up in a big screen near you to fight evil, corruption, bad guys, and if the mood strikes her, pimps, too. Fans of the Top Cow comic probably already know that the creation was made into live-action before, as a TV show on basic cable channel TNT starring Yancy Butler, and there’s a Japanese anime show somewhere out there.

The comicbook introduced the Witchblade mythology, which centers on an ornate jewel-encrusted gauntlet that gives extraordinary powers to the wearer, a specially chosen female from each generation.

I’m not what you would call a Witchblade fan, and I’ve only read a few issues, but as I recall, the Witchblade is the power that gave everyone powerful female in history the ability to do what they did, including Joan of Arc.
