If you watch the end of the movie, after the credits, Deadpool is seen with the blades retracting back into his body. He then grabs his head, which was cut off, only to have it look at the crowd(with his mouth looking as if the stitches were ripped out) and say “Shhhh”. This is breaking the fourth wall and could possibly mean he doesn’t have his powers since during the movie they state that the bonding process wasn’t completed yet, ergo getting his head cut off removes the abilites.

Stupid ending. The ending in X-men 3 was way better! This movie sucked a big one hardcore. Keep to the comic and stop ruining my favorite characters!

If you stayed to the very end of the movie, after the credits, there is a scene where Deadpool’s hand (his body is covered in rubble) is grabbing for his severed head lying a foot away from his body. You can also see the stitches in his mouth have opened up. His eyes then open and he simply says “SHhhhhhhhhh”, before the picture cuts out.

Gambit was fine. So what if he didn’t sound like a New Orleans bayou stereo type. No chere’s or mon amis. Everyone there does NOT speak like that. He had the charm, the humor and the moves. The only thing they really messed up was the telekinetc cards. He THROWS them, he doesn’t shoot them. But even that was that bad. As for the actor playing Weapon XI (I refuse to call him Deadpool and so should you) it was Reynolds, though in some stunt sequences it was Scott Adkins. But all close ups were Reynolds. Wonder, Jaxon, and Bryan, thanks for informing people on what the deal is. Nice breakdown of the characer’s origin B, couldn’t have done it better myself. I have a lil hope for a DP movie now but even RYan Reynolds won’t do it unless it’s closer to the source material. THAT says alot FOX!!!

ok so here is the scoop on deadpool. yes he had cancer thats why they custom made a healing factor for him derived from wolverines however it didnt work so he was seen as a failure and was sent away to be tested on and tortured in a place where all weapon x failures go. time went on and the cancer ravaged his body making him disfigured.
while being in this facility he almost died on a daily basis but didnt. every time he would be brought to the brink of death he saw death and began to have a love affair with her. while imprisoned in this test facility wade made some friends but made a huge enemy out of the head guard alway taunting him and such. finally the guard got back at wade by lobotomizing his closest friend. wade became furious and attacked the guard and was gunned down. wade was finally dead and able to stay with his love death but he through it alway just to get revenge for his friend that when his healing factor kicked in and he took the name deadpool.
the name deadpool came from the pool the other prisoners had.they would bet who would die first.when wade then came to the prison the focus of the deadpool became bets on when wade would die, the prisoners stopped worrying about themselves and all bet on wade.

now you know why his body was scared the cancer got that bad before the healing factor kicked in and it couldnt fix what was damaged prior to it kicking in

Actually that ending really did nothing for his character. They did completely ruin Deadpool. They raped and beat him then spat on him as they zipped back up, as they did with Gambit. The whole movie was a very poor portrayal/rewrite of his character.

I agree with Wonder above about the “Departure from comic book characters to the film.”, however I WAS disappointed with the treatment of the “WeaponXI”/Deadpool character. Yes, they are one and the same AND the stupid toy wasn’t even wrong. Thank you all you omniscient posters So, while trying not to spoil anything for those that didn’t see the movie yet, this suddenly controversial treatment of one of the best characters IMHO in Marvel Universe did upset me when I saw the movie last night as it caught me off guard. I didn’t read any of these postings about the trailer or spoilers or anything until today. But like I said it caught me off guard and I’ve had time to think it through to the point where I believe they can redeem the character of Deadpool/Wade Wilson. Slight spoiler here, at the end several things combine to make me hopeful. There is a line saying the bonding process on Weapon XI isn’t complete so hopefully he’ll lose the blades and presumably the adamantium lacing? Also, he has a shall we say severe injury at the end that HOPEFULLY will get rid of the stupidest addition to his powers they ever could have done, you know optic blasts? Shees! The teleporting can stay as Deadpool uses devices if I’m not mistaken for the same effect quite often yes? I mean hell Spidey doesn’t even have webshooters in the movies And finally, the no mouth thing lol I sorta laughed at that and if ya stay through the credits you’re rewarded a bit to resolve that issue. So, I am now theraputiclly vented and you may all have fun with this yourselves. THX, and remember it’s always Five O’clock somwhere, so DRINK UP!!!

Two words. Worst concept. I’m not a huge Deadpool fan, and my knowledge on the character is some what – limited but let’s look at these facts. Deadpool is famed for being the merc with a mouth, having the healing factor like Logan (extracted from Logan and giving to Wade from what I recall – had something like cancer? I don’t recall). Now, from this (from what I can remember) Wade’s body reacted against Logan’s DNA or what ever they gave a sample of to Wade (giving the result, this leaves Wade with a burnt up, decay like appearance, comic book wise). Known to be the only comic book character who actually knows that he’s in a comic book with his common sense, how does this go from a cocky wise cracking, tooled up super hero… to a bald headed, no mouthed blueprint body for a series of different powers from mutants? It’s called the departure from comic book characters to the film. History in the film world likes to repeat itself with flaws on many things, give it characters and such else (only a few films that take comic book page to film screen e.g; Iron Man make good blockbuster hits). Another way of looking around the epic disappointment in this, is by thinking of the alternative versions of the characters in a series of multiple universes. Either way, however you look at it – the fact remains that the merc with (and without) a mouth is: Wade > Deadpool > Weapon XI.
