Watch Out Nazis, it’s Wolverine World War II Set Pics

By Nix | June 11, 2008 (10:16 am)

Man, that Wolverine guy ages really, really well for being part of the Greatest Generation. We’ve already seen Wolverine in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, and now here he is (in the guise of Hugh Jackman) on a beach in full World War II gear. He didn’t take part in the invasion of Normandy, did he? “Saving Private Wolverine”, perhaps? Anyways, check out these latest pics from the set of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, starring Hugh Jackman as the never-say-die (or die, actually) clawed one.

Since Wolverine aka Logan is Canadian, I’m guessing he’s with a Canadian regiment during World War II? I don’t really recognize the insignia on the men’s uniforms…

“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, the Canadian mutant superhero character spun-off from the “X-Men” films, and chronicles his life and times throughout history’s major events, including his eventually becoming Weapon X.

The insignia is US Army. I don’t remember what regiment.

It’s actually the 29th Ranger Battalion

This should be cool. Along with the Vietnam photos it’s looking like this movie is going to have a lot of flashbacks. It’s too bad Wolverine’s American now but I’m sure most people won’t care anyways.

What! Wolverine is American in the movie? I do care! I do care very much indeed. That’s gonna piss off every comic nerd in Canada.
