Cool Stories From Zergnet

I could almost live with the GL “living” suit if they had just kept the same color palette. Where is the black and white? Keep the colors for the fans and add the living element for the “wow” effect and the average movie goer that wouldn’t know the difference.

As for Thor’s helmet, I need to see it the context of a moving scene but, it looks plastic. I think I would have liked a less modern look.

As always, these are just my opinions…… I still plan to see both of these films and hope to be entertained.

There’s still black on the GL suit. His chest almost looks like a black hole (but green) as if it goes on forever, nice.

It’s funny that so many people wanted to see Thor in his helmet and now there’s a complaint lol, im gonna go to other sites and see how many people are complaining over the thing they wanted to se so badly.

I for one always looked at him more as Ultimate Thor with bits of classic Thor (Hammer and Cape), that’s why his look never really bothered me. Everyone talked about how the bottom half of his costume makes him look like a biker, but that’s how Ultimate Thor looks.

I’m old school I guess. So, I don’t know very much about or are very familiar with Ultimate Thor. I’m not saying I need the bright blues and reds from the comics but, a more renaissance look to the clothes and armor would have been my choice. In the end, I’m glad we are getting quality comic based movies. This is a far cry from what we were fed in the 70s. e.g. TV Spiderman with rope webbing

Y’know, I really don’t get what people are saying about the armor and helmets. They don’t look like they’re plastic to me at all. I actually find them to be pretty bad ass! Yes they are a different from the comics and more in line with the Ultimates version, which all of the Marvel produced films have been so far (Ironman, Fury, Hulk, Black Widow even the upcoming adaptation of Hawkeye.) I have no problem at all wioth that. The Ultimates line was created specifically to bring a more realistic feel to these classic characters. The old comic style renditions would fail, period!. Without taking this material and honing it a bit, it would be laughable. The modernized, warrior style that Branaugh and co. have come up with fits well with what the other films have done. You could do away with the more polished look and have Asgard look more like the common swords and sandals fare but that is what would be expected. Half of the appeal, for me anyway, is the originallity that this film brings. They are gods but they are also a lot like an alien race and that is totally new. All in all I believe that this movie is going to be one of the best superhero films ever made once the mighty one hits in May!

Thor’s helmet looks fantastic! Not plastic-looking at all. It’s a nice update to the classic costume. They should put the posters of Thor and Loki side-by-side, so we could see the full effect. Anyway, very excited to see Thor! Oh, and GL’s costume is just…well, wrong, very wrong (oh and I am a GL fan, have every comic since rebirth).

    Missed this post somehow.

I like the GL look. The suit being a construct and them using CG for it makes sense, and I like the way it’s like a second skin, showing the musculatrue and/or skin of the wearer, with the cracks looking like veins bleeding off energy. Its a cool effect.

As for “Thor” I’d have to say the helmet looks great, and fits the rest of the look of the movie. I like the fact that they went a more sci-fi/fantasy look inspired by current trends and the Siimmonson era look.
