Wrath of the Titans Casting Additions May Include Captain America’s Gal

Jonathan Liebesman’s “Wrath of the Titans” (aka “Clash of the Titans 2: Now Hopefully with Less Shitty 3D Post Conversion”) already has Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Ralph Fiennes, and Liam Neeson back from the first movie, but it’s got a long way to go to fill out its cast with new villains and heroes. The latest rumored additions include “Carlos'” Edgar Ramirez as Ares, the God of War, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’s” Toby Kebbell as Agenor, and Bill Nighy as Hephaestus.

In the female hottie part of the flick, “Captain America’s” Hayley Atwell (below) is on the short list to play Andromeda, apparently replacing Alexa Davalos from the first movie. As you may or may not know, Andromeda was supposed to be Perseus’ love interest in the first flick, but that was ultimately changed to have Perseus hook up with Gemma Arterton’s half-mortal, half-Goddess (but all British cutie) Io instead. The better choice, in my opinion, though that did leave Andromeda sorta just walking around in the background, which may have been one reason Davalos decided not to return.

Atwell isn’t the only one trying to replace Davalos, though, she has to fight off fellow contenders Georgina Haig (“Wasted on the Young”), Janet Montgomery (“Black Swan”, though probably more familiar to viewers now as Ames on FOX’s “Human Target”), Dominique McElligott (“Moon”) and Clemence Poesy (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”).

Liebesman is coming off “Battle: Los Angeles”, the first of the big-budget Hollywood alien invasion movies to invade theaters in 2011.
