Writer Says Fast and Furious 5 is Vroom-Vroom-Vrooming Along
The Fast and Furious 5 Movie — By Nix on May 9, 2009
Writer Chris Morgan, who wrote the recent “Fast & Furious”, and before that, “Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift” has told MTV that indeedy Universal is not only moving ahead with a fifth installment in the still immensely popular car franchise, but they’re moving along at a pretty speedy pace. According to Morgan, the studio is very close to an official greenlight (mind you, not that anyone doesn’t think it’ll happen) for the fifth movie, and it’s only a matter of time before things click and they’re on the road again.
Morgan tells MTV:
“It seems like there will definitely be another one… I just got out of a lunch with Universal, just pitching the story around. We were figuring out if we do another one, and what it would be. It has to come from the characters, so where are these characters after this film — what are they doing?”
Morgan stresses that Vin Diesel and Paul Walker would definitely return for the fifth movie, since at this point how could you possibly make another “Fast and Furious” movie without them? I’m sure Diesel’s manager will thank them, as well as Walker’s, as both actors’ careers have stalled mightily without those fancy cars of theirs.
So where would a fifth installment take the boys? According to Paul Walker from April, the destination would likely be somewhere down South, perhaps Brazil.
Below: You can’t have a Fast and Furious movie without the Diesel. And, er, the Walker, too.
