X-Men: Days of Future Past Adds Omar Sy

The question is: who will he play?

Until we find that answer, here’s the official confirmation from Bryan Singer himself via Twitter that “The Intouchables” actor Omar Sy has been added to the cast of Singer’s upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. Sy, along with Peter Dinklage, are two of the few names being added to the cast that aren’t former stars of previous “X-Men” movies.

Sy is a French actor who has been in the aforementioned “The Intouchables”, as well as “Micmacs” and a bunch of other French films that you’ve probably never heard of (unless you’re French, that is).

As always with his cast announcements, Singer neglected to tell us who Sy would be playing in the upcoming comic book sequel. The quick assumption of course is to wonder which black mutant shows up in the original comic book storyline that “Days of Future Past” will be based on, but bear in mind that race swapping in comic book movies is not exactly new anymore. (For an example, see Nick Fury, Perry White, and Catwoman, etc.)

    Probably Forge.

Bishop perhaps? In the 90s cartoon they mixed Bishop story with a version of days of future past.

    • Juggernaut

Exactly. If you’re doing a time travel story you should use Bishop, Cable and any other aspects of the various time travel storylines.

Bishop. Maybe the rumors of Dinklage being Trask were wrong and Sy ends up being a young Bolivar Trask that would be cool too. But most likely Bishop.

  • sketchalexander

bishop is not black (african) he is aboriginal, for along time i thought he was black too but his grandparents and parents are aboriginal and storm is his adopted grandmother. Anyway I hope they don’t kill him off

There are black people that have aboriginal ancestry, but they are still black people. You maybe right about his background but the Marvel character Bishop is definitely a black guy. I mean in the 90’s he had Jerry curls, and every other distinctive attributes of an African male in every version of him.

Would be cool if he was Bishop, or forge but i see him being a better fit as bishop.

also someone mentioned he could be playing the same character that bill duke was or be his son.

Solid actor, if you haven’t watch “The Intouchables” go kill yourself already – but before you do, watch it damnit.
