It’s official: “She’s Out of My League” hottie Alice Eve has landed the role of Emma Frost in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming “X-Men: First Class”. The role was originally rumored to be going to former Bond girl Rosamund Pike, who had auditioned for the part, but then later reports had Pike auditioning again for scientist Moira MacTaggert. It looks like that last report is still viable; at least, for now.
In the comics, Emma Frost is the evil telepath mutant The White Queen, one of the founders of The Hellfire Club, before eventually turning over a new coat and, in recent incarnations, becoming a good X-Men. That’s comic books for ya, villains become good guys, good guys become villains, and etc etc.
Fox’s “First Class”, scheduled for 2011, is a prequel to the “X-Men” movies, and will trace the origins of a young Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender, who has been confirmed in the role) as they meet, become friends, and eventually fall out. Such is life.
And no doubt, Alice Eve will fill out The White Queen’s costume quite, ahem, well.
