Tell the truth, did you actually believe a major Hollywood studio would invest so much in a movie about Captain America? I certainly didn’t. At least, not in my lifetime. But here we are, just two short weeks away from “Captain America: The First Avenger” slinging his way onto the big screen in all his big-budget epic glory July 22, 2011, courtesy of director Joe Johnston and Marvel Studios. Yet another reason why Marvel creating their own film studio was the best thing to happen to comic book fans since, well, the invention of comic books.
“Captain America: The First Avenger” will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving.)
Starring Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Stanley Tucci, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Richard Armitage, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Natalie Dormer, Neal McDonough, Toby Jones, and JJ Feild.
