Hide the grandmas and send the kids to bed, it’s an extremely explicit Red Band trailer for Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac”. If even half of the, er, shenanigans in this thing is real, then I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t be wrong to classify “Nymphomaniac” as porn. It’s certainly an “adult” film, that’s for bloody dang sure. So, uh, anyone wanna guess what happened to the girl at the end there? Why was she walking all, er, wobbly up those stairs?
One thing’s for sure: I’ll never watch the first three “Transformers” movies or the “Thor” films the same way ever again.
NYMPHOMANIAC is the wild and poetic story of a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe. On a cold winter’s evening the old, charming bachelor, Seligman, finds Joe beaten up in an alleyway. He brings her home to his flat where he tends to her wounds while asking her about her life. He listens intently as Joe over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-out and multi faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.
Starring Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Christian Slater, Connie Nielsen, Willem Dafoe and Jesper Christensen.
Denmark gets it first this December 25th.
