You can Add Eddie Redmayne to the Wachowskis’ Jupiter Ascending

Eddie RedmayneEddie Redmayne, fresh from singing his heart out in “Les Miserables”, is set to join the cast of Lana and Andy Wachowski’s latest sci-fi undertaking, “Jupiter Ascending”.

Redmayne would join the previously cast Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis. There is no word on who Redmayne would play in the film, but we do know that Tatum is playing a man named Django Wise and Kunis is playing a Russian immigrant named Jupiter.

So what’s it all about? Take this plot synopsis for a whirl:

In a universe where humans are near the bottom of the evolutionary ladder, a young destitute human woman is targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe because her very existence threatens to end the Queen’s reign.

Nice. I expect crazy “Matrix”-style action and less “Cloud Atlas”-style profundity.

Speaking of “Cloud Atlas”, despite nearly universal acclaim, the film has only grossed $62 million so far in worldwide box office, with $26 million of that from domestic ticket sales. The film had an estimated $100 million production budget, not counting its ensemble A-list stars and considerable promotional budget.

“Jupiter Ascending” is set to start its ascension sometime in early 2013.

unfortunately it turned out to be true, cloud atlas is an impossible novel to adapt to film. however, if they had used mila kunis instead of halle berry, they would have gotten my money.

Cloud Atlas hasn’t been released worldwide though, I know that it doesn’t open in the UK until February.
