9-9-81 (2012) Movie PosterHere’s something worth looking forward to, “9-9-81”, a new fright fest from Thailand. A terrifying, atmospheric ghost story, the gruesomeness and horror are on full display in a new trailer. I guarantee that after watching this you’ll feel disembodied hands grabbing you from behind.

A bride-to-be jumps to her death after becoming convinced that a tragic accident has claimed the life of her groom-to-be. But, the end of her life is the beginning of the story when her groom-to-be is alive and his false death turns out to be his and her best friend’s plan to get rid of her. Distraught by the betrayal, the spirit of the bride-to-be is craving for vengeance.

Even though “9-9-81” hails from Thailand, you can’t help but notice the strong Japanese influence. The film wears the inspiration of films like “Ringu” and “Ju-On”, among others, on its sleeve.

Directed by Rapeepimol Chaisaena, “9-9-81” stars Patitta Attayatamavitaya, Setsit Limkasitdej, and Thiti Vetchabul.

Looks promising. I am a big fan of Parkpoom Wongpoom (“Shutter”, Alone”) and his crew. I haven’t heard of this director.
