Your First Look at the Daybreakers, Karvan Joins

Well, sort off. It’s a concept art for Australian bros Peter and Michael Spierig’s upcoming horror/vampire movie “The Daybreakers” (or maybe they’ll drop the “The” in the title). It’s called “Kitchen Action” by artist Christian Pearce (thumbnail to the left, bigger version below) and shows a vampire coming down from the ceiling attacking three humans — two men and a woman. It’s not exactly mind-blowing stuff, but hey, it’s not like there’s anything else about “Daybreakers” to post, right?

In the year 2017, a plague has transformed most every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind. a researcher (Hawke) works with a covert group of vamps to a band of humans fight back.

Also, via Film Stew, news is that Australian actress Claudia Karvan has joined the cast of “Daybreakers”, possibly as the female lead.
