Your First REAL Look at the Cloverfield Monster

Hey?…I Dont know if any one has notice yet but if you watch the HD version of Cloverfield trailor & Slow it down where two Bio-Tec Guys have a female from the party behind a Bio sheet..When all of a sudden you hear & see her morf into some bubbly & Large…hmmm? is it a virus? please check it out…

I was wondering about that chick behind the plastic sheet…I thought she mutated as well.

As for Cthulu…it won’t work. He’s supposed to be sleeping in Ry’leh not stomping around NY. It should be a film noir detective movie about a strange cult in LA or somthing for Cthulu.

Errr dont know if any one has looked but the clip does not reveal a thing about the monster. Look closely there is a lot of rubble falling down in FRONT of the monster, so anything you think you can see is just that speculation. The rubble falling hides the detail.

The monster is bending forward and looks like (not saying it is) godzilla crawling through a building. You can see the front legs reciprocating and the larger thigh of the back leg following.

I don’t know guys. I distinctly see tentacles. Cthulhu is sleeping in Ry’leh, but all sleeping things wake up. I for one hope to the goddess that this is a Cthulhu movie!

Anyone who claims they can see the monster is simply full of shheet! There are no clear views of the monster…period! Speculate all you want! In a world where everything is seeped to the internet early, bravo goes out to Abrams for keeping his “monster” under wraps for so long, thereby hyping his movie! I have a feeling the movie will be anti-climatic after all the pre-release speculation.

The hindlegs look like frog-legs in proportion to the quick glimpse of the bulbous torso. And if other preview clips are showing people morphing, then that fits the theory I heard that it might be based on the game Rampage (but I dont know much about that game personally, so who knows).

the monster walks almost like a crab or a lobster, if u look at the rewinded section u can see that the legs really dont have feet to them

did anyone even look at the bulding to the right,,,with the two lights on..if u stare at it the whole clip you can cleary c osama bin laden

hmm. just started to look into this movie.

Here is what I see,

Voltron? maybe, I can at least see where it is coming from. You have to realize that the theory is not that the monster is voltron, but that is what voltron will fight. Here is the plot of the new voltron movie.. see any similarities?

“Marks’ take is described as a post-apocalyptic tale set in New York City and Mexico. Five ragtag survivors of an alien attack band together and end up piloting the five lion-shaped robots that combine and form the massive sword-wielding Voltron that helps battle Earth’s invaders.”

Parasite?

Hmm, I looked at the slow vid, and I could vaguely make out something that looks like the back end of a cockroach. Think about its shape and leg to body comparison. Also think about the motivation for this film. A new monster film. not like godzilla (reptile) or King Kong (animal) so why not a parisite or big bug?

Just some food for thought.

In one of the TV spots (and it’s in the trailers as well) where the POV is on top of the building where the jet is screaming past having just dumped a missle into the city streets…..

at about 13 seconds into the TV spot (i’m not sure which one it is) but JUST before the camera moves to the people leaning over the edge, about mid left of the screen behind the last tall building visible, it looks like theres some sort of mass there. And there is what looks like a missle flash behind it…..

I dunno if it’s a glimpse of the creature or not, but it doesn’t look like a building to me. I just thought maybe someone could grab a screen shot of it. I tried but I’m not very good at stuff like that……

This thing looks weird like some sort of whale that was mutated by a radioactive waste.Or some kind of genectic experiment gone wrong.Anyway I’m looking forward to seeing the movie.

It’s a giant bunny/rabbit. Look at the trailer.. it’s not a cloud of smoke in the background going between the buildings… it’s a giant rabbits foot… rabbits also eat clovers.. hence cloverfield..

There is something very curious about what happens to that girl with the guys in the biohazard suits. Before they show the girl’s shadow expanding you hear someone say “We’ve got a bite”…”There is nothing you can do for her.” Then we see the shadow scene. So it would seem that she has been bitten by something, but what? If the monster is as gigantic as it seems then it probably couldn’t have bitten her without tearing her in half. So what bit her? Offspring? Parasites on the monster? Tenticles with smaller mouths on them? Very curious.

exactly… now look at that part again.. why do you think it is people in biohazard suits?? watch the trailer and step by step thru it.. they are giant rodents.. it’s 1 monster rat and it’s rat/rabbit/bunny friends who are obviously smaller but bigger than humans.. looks like the rats finally take over NYC.. you can credit me to this find.. i guarantee i am right.. that’s why they are keeping it a secret cause if everyone knows its a big rat really, who will go see it????

ITS A GIANT CHINAMEN!

It’s obvious when you read through the horribly depicted events in the Tagruato site headlines, and the pathetic Slusho website with both of the sites referencing the deep sea along with death, destruction and turmoil as said before in the Chaui Station, and the Slusho inventors death out at sea, and the effect of Slusho on animals, with sea life in particular as referenced in the Tagruato headlines. Lost is an annoying show, with writers feeding their egotistical deep hungers. I think the beast or animal will be whatever they decided to pick that would look the coolest when it reacted to slusho. It is more than likely that the monster will not be unveiled at all. I will just wait until opening day and read confirmation on the story and beast when someone else spends the cash to see this pathetic excuse for something new in movie making concepts.

Anyone ponder the idea that people aren’t turning into anything but rather something coming out of them. Makes more sense that guys in hazmat suits would go near someone if that werent mutated into something alien like? While we’re at it. Anyone pondered how this might impact the idea of Slusho being involved?

watch the part on the trailer when the bridge snaps after you see the girl in the window of the helicopter…its godzilla people you can see the whole body and face…enjoy

I just put some ideas together:

You’ve all heard if before, but I really think it might be Cthulhu. I didn’t think that was right until jut now. It walks on two legs and looks like it might have tentacles on its face. Slusho got the stuff from the sea yeah? The pacific, too. That’s where Ry’leh is. Ry’leh is covered in goo… kind of like the syrup in slushies?
And the biggest point… Lovecraft wrote in the 1st person. This movie is in the first person with the home video. You may say a that a detective story would make more sense, but Lovecraft wrote horror with some detective elements, not the other way around.

And if you look on the back of the statue of liberty it has claw marks. Cthulhu is specifically mention to have large front and rear claws.

It’s actually a wombat. A really big one. Seriously.

*Spoiler* it’s a mutant whale thing, carrying disease spreading parasites, that originally mutated the whale.

the leg seen is the monsters hind leg, and it seems to match up with a piece of ‘concept art’ I’ve seen. The pic looks like it could be the real deal, it’s done up like concept art, and it has an artist signature. If it is a fake, it’s quite convincing.

also, the monster depicted in the pic DOES indeed have a shell.

Actually all you guys are wrong, a friend saw it and drew it for me. It is like nothing I have heard described by people over the last few months. NO WHALE, NO LION, NO CUTHULHU.

It`s the most hideous creature, known to man. it`s the Goreasaur,
Made up of alot of hot air, also known as windbag disease.
He`s like the trailer, it never really shows you what the thing really is. Like that platnium plated phony Al Gore. A big monster who sucks all the earths resources but then scolds others, not to do the same.
The parasites are little slimy creatures known as Clintons,they hook on, and just suck the life out of everyone, and everything, then pretend it`s for the good of “the people”

**SPOLIER**Hey everyone! I just got back from seeing the movie. The deal with the girl behind the curtain is that she explodes…at least her head does. She gets bitten by one of the monster things and becomes infected, in which case her head explodes. My best guess for where the creature came from is that its alien. I think that it is the primary attack from an alien race or sumthing. Cuz think about why else would it be carrying tiny creatures? The tiny creatures carry a deadly virus of some sort which (as what happened to the girl in the tent) you explode…somehow..anyways I hope that clears things up! Oh and I heard that in the final scene at coney island that something falls into the water. I didnt see this my self but if someone knows where to find a clip of it that would be great:) Thanks

Oh and the people behind the curtain with the girl are military people in suits…not rats or aliens

It was the worst movie ever. The camera angles sucked ass, the movie was short as hell and its a waste of $10 or how much u pay to go in. Dont see this movie. The monster looks gay anway.

Okay, a bit of clarification to Jenn’s post. The girl who gets taken behind the curtain after being bitten does explode, but it is her abdomen that swells and ruptures. They took her behind to curtain to contain the gore and presumably the possible spread of the infection. When the four main people first get taken into the military’s facility, a dead soldier is rolled passed them. His abdomen is hollow and generally disgusting, and one of the people in the tent simply mention that it was from “Another bite”

The movie was actually really good. It’s intensity came from the fact that you are just as clueless about what is happening as the guy carrying the camera. This may sound like a bad thing, but it works out to be really cool. It puts you in the place of the average person and makes you experience exactly what the characters experience. Really good stuff.

if u do look in at the end very closely something does drop in the water i seen it twice because i knew i missed something about the end when they show the water if u see it again look at the top right and you will see it for yourselfs

I actually did not like this movie when I left the movies. But now after reading some facts about it and getting a better grip on what was going on in the film I think I am going to go see it again. Despite the camera angles and what not, it was surprisingly good. I knew I missed something.

What is with the characters in the movie having myspaces and stuff. With actual people it seems talking to them and them talking to each other? I typed in Rob Hawkins on google and one of the links I saw that was about the Cloverfield character was his myspace. On his myspace you see Hud and Beth and all of them. Weird? Maybe to keep people guessing? I have not the slightest idea.

Dude the thing seen is the leg. The monster is about 30x the size of the staue of liberty.

got back from the movie about 2 hrs ago and thought it was great!It takes a few minutes to get used to the hand held footage,same format as “blairwitch”,but than cloverfield draws you in til the very end.I’ll go later today to see if i see something fall in the water at coney island can’t wait.hope they started on cloverfield 2 already

The film rocked…literally. The theatre shook so much, it felt like I was actually in NYC during a monster attack. Prior to seeing it, I kept thinking it was going to be just another Godzilla movie, but this thing, whatever the hell it is, is so much more better than Godzilla, and better-looking. I grew up watching the Godzilla films, but I never thought I’d see something as good as Cloverfield. I’d see it a million times more. Definitely getting it when it releases on DVD. Excellent work JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard. You guys rule!! You really re-newed my interest in the entire giant-monster movie genre.

Definitely the most original monster of recent memory. Very good CGI — it doesn’t look fake at all. The monsters were HUGE. Doesn’t look anything like the sketches you can Google online. Haven’t found full photos of the monster online yet…probably the studio doing their best to keep it from getting out.

I just saw “Cloverfield”. It was ok. The monster reminded me of the one from “forbidden Planet” aka monster from the id ( meaning your mind).
I thought it would be more scary, but…….
The most fun on the movie is the comments from the guy video recording
whats going on, and the two people in front of me who kept jumping everytime something scary? happened.
Wait till it comes out on DVD.

i just saw the movie with my son last night and i thought that the movie was great untilthe ending. it could have been better. but i thought that it was pretty coincidental to the monsters from the movie ” the mist” i was wondering if the two movies may have played a role together. if yes well fna. reason being that how quickly the army got to the middle of manhattan with tanks and missle launchers. just a thought.

theres a lot of stuff that doesn’t make sense in the movie, like how do those parasites that were on the monster survive underwater? or if they were underwater parasites how are they able to survive on land? why didn’t the army guy give them a gun when he was ushering them off? how the heck did the monsters air sacks not get ruptured when theres bombs going off at his head, is he like invulnerable? how is it that a slusho satellite comes crashing down and nobody notices it and what a coincidence that its their satellite that wakes up the monster with them doing all the underwater drilling too..i woulda just left it at the drilling waking up the monster and left the satellite out of it, that made no sense. unless like he was traveling underwater and the satellite fell on his head and he got pissed.

someone said that you do not get to see the monster, but you do. you get to see the monster very clearly at the end of the film. you see the monster in broad daylight, you get to see its colour and eyes etc

This moive Roxxxx sooooooooooooooooooo much I loved it At first the monster looked like one of thoes critters from pitch black but then It looked like some sort of a dino but in the end I didnt know what it was It was wonderful special effects It looked really awesome and I loved the part when the statue of libertys head crashed down from where the moster threw it at the ppl of manhatten that was awesome I would love to write a book about it maybe I will use diff ppl though

Just saw the movie from a DVD rip. A little hint about what might have been the origins of this creature came in one scene where the survivors were standing in an alley (I know, not very specific). There is a good shot of a drum in the background to the left in the alley with a bright yellow biohazard sign on it. The drum has a trail of fluid running accross the alley from it (maybe heading to a storm drain). I never saw anything about slusho (whatever that is), a satellite, or drilling at sea, but then I didn’t watch all the way through the credits either.
