Zack Snyder and the Watchmen War Room

Director Zack Snyder isn’t wasting any time getting the comic book fans into his upcoming comic book epic “Watchmen”. Warner Bros. also seems very charitable with information regarding the movie, a major surprise considering they’re somewhat infamous for their trigger happy legal department. But in the movie’s official blog, Snyder has given fans a glimpse into what he calls the “Watchmen” war room, where Snyder and his crew plots their next move in regards to shooting what will, undoubtedly, become one of the most hyped films of 2008.

More from the blog:

One of the things I love about the graphic novel is the incredible attention to detail. Here in the war room, we have created a place where all the departments can combine and display applicable reference, rendering a similar level of detail. From set concepts, to location photos, concepts for props, costumes, vehicles and even product logos, the surrounding walls incorporate it all. These walls are very useful in helping us keep track of so many different elements.

I really hope directors doing blogs and keeping fans in touch with the production is the wave of the future. It might be too much to say that they have respect for the fans, but you know, a little goes a long way.

I have to wonder, though, how close this film will be to the maxi-series. He obviously can’t fit everything from the 12-issue series in, but by jettisoning some of it will hurt the film, I think.
