Zack Snyder to Produce Zombie Fun in Army of the Dead

Let’s face it, Zack Snyder can do no wrong, and that’s how it’s going to be until he does do something that is just short of bloody fantastic. I’ve even grown to love his 2004 remake of Romero’s “Dawn of the Dead”; if you approach it as a separate movie from Romero’s, it’s not half bad. In fact, it’s pretty damn good. Now Snyder is back in zombie land, this time as producer on the new movie “Army of the Dead”, which, judging by the plot (below), would seem to fit in perfectly with Snyder’s own “Dawn of the Dead” world.
The Hollywood Reporter has your plot:
“Dead” is an action thriller centering on a father’s mission to save his daughter from imminent death in a zombie-infested world. Filmmaker Joby Harold (”Awake”) wrote the screenplay.
Snyder, who is producing the movie for Warner Bros and Village Roadshow via his own production shingle, has tapped commercial director Matthijs van Heijningen to direct. Now before you get all hot and bothered by that, remember that Snyder was a nobody when he did “Dawn”, too, and we know how well that turned out.

Sounds cool. Running zombies are a little too ACTION PACKED to be scary though. It’s a shock scare or nothing. You’d hear a steroid zombie coming a mile away.
