Zoe Saldana Assaults Your Senses in Colombiana Trailer

Check out the first action-packed trailer for Zoe Saldana’s “Colombiana”, from director (and producer/writer Luc Besson protege) Olivier Megaton of “Transporter 3″ fame. Hopefully the movie itself won’t be full of the ADD-heavy editing that makes up most of the trailer. Saldana certainly looks at home as a badass assassin, but then again, after “The Losers”, you probably aren’t too surprise she’s able to pull this off without breaking a sweat. It’s also amusing that the “pretty girl next door” who makes our anti-hero want a better life is a guy in this one.

A young woman grows up to be a stone-cold assassin after witnessing her parents’ murder as a child in Bogota. She works for her uncle as a hitman by day, but her personal time is spent engaging in vigilante murders that she hopes will lead her to her ultimate target – the mobster responsible for her parents’ death.

Also starring Lennie James, Michael Vartan, Marshall Warren, Callum Blue, Jordi Mollà, Max Martini, Sam Douglas, and Monica Acosta.

The lady demands a slice of payback September 2, 2011.

Thanks a lot, because of your kind of vision you can´t imagine how many colombians can be dying, hurt or anything else in this moment.
I am a US citizen because i was born in the States, but my family is Colombian. I´ve seen how my colombian people had been fighting all these years because people just point at us as drug dealers, because i few people had made really bad choices, they´ve point at us as killers and kidnappers thanks to the FARC, that we still have to deal with them and fight with them and now this movie. Colombians are always the bad blood, thats how you put it, but it´s kind of odd because even that you love us colombian, you love Shakira(Colombian), you love Sofia Vergara(Colombian), you love Nina Garcia(Colombian), you love Jhon Leguizamo(Colombian). It´s hard for us to see how you people point at us and have tretaed us for a long time, It´s a shame.
Yes, we have problems, like every country, even like the US, the States had their dark problems too once, and still have. But funny how americans come to live to Colombia and they have seen a diferent country as you´ve always been pointing as, a cruel country and a bad country.

So maybe you shouldn´t release this movie, because you are hurting a lot of people that doesn´t deserve to be treated so bad….
Finally i have to say: shame on you, and i´m proud to be a Colombian, cause i´m a Colombian too, and i defend my people because they´re not so bad as you always pictured us!!!

That’s a little bit intolerant take on this movie and the writer, after all, he’s doing his job.

I’m Vietnamese, and I never complained about all the exploitative movies that have been made – about communist “gooks” and NVAs. There have even been some great movies, like the “The Deer Hunter” (I never pass this up when I flip by it) where the Vietnamese people didn’t even speak Vietnamese. And we don’t even any Shakira, Sofia Vergara or the other actors you mention to represent us in the main stream media. All we got is that lame movie “Clash”.

I have a feeling that the majority of the people realize that this is a movie. You go, suspend your belief, hopefully the movie is done well enough to let you immersive yourself in it, then the credits roll and you leave.

If I want to get the real Columbia, I watch a few episodes of House Hunter’s International on HGTV of US ex-pats looking for a summer home in Columbia.

Man, we are talking a bout COLOMBIA, SOUTH AMERICA, no Columbia USA.
Also, what we are saying is that there is a lot more to talk about Colombia, that the same crap that this “director” is saying. He is limited in his ideas, or tell me if this movie has any difference to Nikita???

I sure hope Zoe Saldana isn’t taking her career down the wrong track. However, it’s hard to pass up a hot chick with a big gun. I guess if her action movies start going direct to DVD/Blu-Ray, she can pin her resurrection on another Star Trek.
